Thursday Thirteen!

Thirteen Words Out of the Urban Dictionary! Love that Website!

1. Facebookemon
The collection of people, on your Facebook friends list, that you don’t actually talk to or know in real life.

2. Tweetup
A group of friends on Twitter that are planning to meet up. A request by a user to meet with friends via Twitter.

3. Social Notworking
The practice of spending time unproductively on social-networking websites, especially when one should be working.

4. Inbox Rot
To neither accept, nor decline a friend request from someone on Facebook or Myspace. Used in situations when you don't want to accept someone's friend request, but you also don't want to be rude by declining them.

5. Sexsuade
To convince someone to agree to, accept, or do something, usually by using the promise of sex (explicit or implicit) or by withholding sex until you get your way.

6. Remote Dance
The movements you make with your hand when trying to get your tv to recognize your remote control.

7. Yellular
The loudness one adopts in response to a bad cell-phone connection, in the misguided hope that talking louder will improve the connection.

8. Flavorgasm
When eating food so good that you let out an involuntary moan, usually after the first bite; also as an adjective - flavorgasmic

9. Booty Grazing
The act of mass texting a generic message to members of the opposite sex in hopes that a guaranteed hookup for the night will be established. It often involves a very nonspecific message such as "What are you up to tonight?" or "Want to meet up later?" The key feature is the lack of personalization so that the same message can be sent to as many people as possible. This can also be applied to other contact means such as myspace, facebook or email.

10. Thumb Strength
The energy required to write a text.

11. Textrovert
One who feels an increased sense of bravery over texting, as opposed to in person, or one who will often only say what they really feel over text messages.

12. Boyfriend Drop
Subtly adding the fact that you have a boyfriend into the conversation in order to deter anyone who is potentially interested.

13. The Spousal We
Meaning "you". Used by your significant other to get you to do something, as in, "We should clean the bathroon today," meaning, "You should clean the bathroom today."

Got My Cover for Vampire 101!

Isn't it hot and sexy?! Rika Singh, the artist, does such gorgeous work! I love it!

Being a Vampire Isn't What It Used to Be!

Savanna Royce is a weekend Goth-girl who has always been fascinated with vampires. She doesn’t really believe in them, of course, but that changes when she is bitten by a rogue vamp and left for dead.
Fortunately, two-hundred-and-seventy-eight-year-old vampire Kaige Travers is there to rescue her. Unwilling to let her die, he turns Savanna into a vampire to save her life, not knowing if she’ll thank him or hate him for it.
While Kaige is teaching Savanna what she needs to know about being a vampire, neither of them can deny the chemistry that’s there. Somewhere between getting her registered at the local vampire admin office and teaching her how to order blood on the internet, they fall for each other, fast and hard.
Just as things are heating up between the sheets – and everywhere else – they encounter one minor problem. The rogue vampire who attacked her is back and this time, he wants to finish the job he started.
Vampire 101 comes out with Whiskey Creek Press Torrid in April!

How I Got into Writing!

I'm often asked in interviews how I became a writer. I always loved to write, even as a kid. It wasn't until I got to high school, though, that I really entertained the idea of writing as a profession. That's largely thanks to my creative writing teacher. She said that I was really good at it and encouraged me to pursue it.

While I originally started out as an English major in college, I actually changed majors and got a degree in elementary education instead. But after trying that for a while, I realized teaching wasn't for me and that I really wanted to follow my dream of becoming a writer.

At the time, I had never heard of eBooks. Then I was browsing around the Internet when I came across a website that sold romance stories online. I read some of the excerpts and thought to myself, I can do that. So, I took a story I had already been playing with and really focused on the romance angle. The next thing you know, I had a contemporary romance on my hands. I submitted it and the publisher loved it. She wanted to publish it and that officially started my career as a writer! I was so excited that I did the Snoopy Dance!

Of course, I couldn't do any of it if not for my hubby. He's not only very patient and supportive, but he's also the best research assistant a girl could ask for!
