Thursday Thirteen!

Thirteen Modern Conveniences I Absolutely Love!

Since yesterday's post was an excerpt from my novella Living in the Past, a time-travel romance in which the heroine goes back to the 15th century, I thought I'd post about how much I love those modern conveniences!

  1. Straight irons (I think straight and sleek is sexy - at least for me it is!)

  2. Laptop computers (love mine!)

  3. The Internet (what did we do before it?)

  4. Electricity (candles aren't romantic if you have to use them all the time!)

  5. Indoor plumbing (wells and outhouses - let's not go there!)

  6. Air conditioning (love the warm weather, but I love to come inside to ac!)

  7. Microwave (gotta love the convenience!)

  8. Washer and dryer (what's not to love?)

  9. Dishwasher (otherwise we'd be eating off of paper plates all the time!)

  10. Planes, trains and automobiles (it'd take way too long to get anwhere without them!)

  11. Contact lenses (love mine!)

  12. Sunless tanner (being tan is sexy - at least I think so!)

  13. The Hitachi Magic Wand ('nuff said, girls!)

Oh, how true!

And the remote controller for the gas fireplace! (just like our forefathers) LOL!

What a faboo list. Amazing how we take all these conveniences for granted...I don't know how I'd make it without my connection to the mother ship! (internet). LOLOL

Our dishwasher died -- and now we use TONS of paper plates. :D

You know the other one I don't have that I really, really miss? A garbage disposer. It sucks having to scrape the plates outside in the yard.

I definitely couldn't live without my contact lenses. I can't stand wearing glasses anymore. Now I'm off to check out #13.

I totally agree. I'd like to add hot and cold running water. Try camping in Africa for seven months - let me tell you. Running water coming out of taps is a huge thing!

Where would we be without straightening irons?Think of the frizz, lol.

And the internet, what a damn good invention!

I am a slave to a few of those myself. I don't do the flat iron though. My hair is wildly curly- hmmm, maybe I need to try one!

There are just too many modern corn-veniences to mention! But you made me giggle with a few of your choices. Rock on, baby!

Totally with you on the convenience factor... I wouldn't make it. Seriously, power outages alone drive me nuts!

Tempest - Thanks! I'm with you on the TV and totally wanted to put it in there, but I couldn't fit it in! LOL!

Loribelle - Thanks! Me, too!

RG - Thanks! I so know what you mean! Gotta have 'em!

Elizabeth - Thanks! I so agree!

Jennifer - Thanks!

Rhonda - Thanks! Oh, I know! Gotta have it!

Robin - We don't seem to have much need for a garbage disposer, but I'm with you on the dishwasher!

Bernadette and Jennifer - I know! I love mine! Ooooh, and you'll absolutely love the Magic Wand!

Kate - Me, too! And yes, the Magic Wand is a personal pleasure item! Actually, it's the best personal pleasure item in my opinion! Run, don't walk, to your favorite online sex toy store to get one!

Amelia - Yes, is right! And don't worry about mentioning the floggers. I write spanking stories, remember? LOL!

Shelley - Oh yeah, gotta have the indorr plumbing!

Ava - A big, resounding yes to both of those!

Kissa - You so have to get a straight iron! They're the best!

Gina - Thanks!

Adelle - Thanks!

Diana - Me, too!

I'll trade you the straight iron for the blow dryer. Since suffering whiplash several years ago I have to dry my hair or the cold, wet hair hanging down my back causes my neck to ache horribly. Great list!

Mp3 players, hair dryers, DVDs and laptop computers - Yay!

Self-tanner, absolutely! The sun is overrated -- it causes wrinkles and skin cancer (NOT sexy). But a nice healthy glow from a bottle/tube is harmless and looks great. :-) -- Erica
